The music currently playing on this site is St. Anne, attributed to the English composer, William Croft (1678-1727) and believed to have been named when Croft was at St. Anne's Church in Soho, London. As a hymn tune it has become permanently linked with Isaac Watts' text O God, our help in ages past. Watts (1674-1748), known as the father of English hymnody, based his text on Psalm 90. The hymn, originally consisting of 9 verses, became a source of hope and promise in times of war. It continues to be a a source of assurance of God's presence In order to utilize this site to its fullest extent, we suggest that you upgrade your Web browser to the most recent version available.
